Why Moving Out On Your Own is a Bad Idea

Posted on May 15, 2019October 31, 2019 by Riel

Moving to a new house or a new location can is an exciting and thrilling part of our lives. You will be thinking of things to do once you are settled. Planning on doing things on your own like packing and loading your stuff will be on the top list since you don’t want to ruin your valuables. These are the things that you are probably going to resort to since you would think that it will be quicker, easier and cheaper. A DIY move, It is not, actually, there are a lot of things that can get into your way and will make the job quite stressful

You Have to Handle Large Things By Yourself

If you’re considering a DIY move, plan on having to do EVERYTHING yourself. You will have to do all the lifting which includes all of the boxes as well as the huge pieces of furniture and you know very well that it will be a difficult task.

Aside from that, you there’s a huge possibility of you scratching up the walls while lifting beds and couches. If you live in a single bedroom apartment then it won’t be that difficult to move without hiring some professionals, but if you have a home with three to five bedrooms, or if you are physically disabled in any way, moving is a tremendous job. It’s best to hire the moving services to save your back.

It would be better if you leave all of the heavy liftings to the professionals. Through a moving company, you can stay FAR away from moving and lifting your heavy furniture, such as couches and chairs up and down stairs. You may have some great friends offering to help, but is this really something you want to put your close friends through. Is the risk of damaging a close friendship worth saving a few dollars?

It also means you body stays in better health because you spare yourself the risk of pulling a muscle, damaging your floors, or taxing your friends relationship by asking them to help move your heavy items. Free pizza and beer is a great way to get people to come help, but if one of your close friends hurts himself helping you, you may find yourself looking for a new set of friends. This means you can focus your valuable time on more important tasks such as telling the moving company where all your belongings go in your new house.

You Cannot Do Everything By Yourself

Moving out involves planning, plus you have to arrange all of your furniture by yourself. You’ll have to figure out how to get your stuff from your old house to your new house. Knowing how to most efficiently load the moving truck is also an acquired skill that not everyone has. It’s somewhat like a lifesize game of tetris. A moving company will have played this tetris game hundreds of times and knows how to load the truck both efficiently and in a way that protects all your belongings.

If you hire moving companies, rest assured that they will arrive on time and carry with them of the appropriate moving equipment and supplies. They will do all of the not-so-fun tasks such as gathering your furniture at the last minute, thinking of which things go in which box, packaging, and of course loading. Which is why hiring a reputable relocation company can save you whole a lot of moving hours, and a lot of stuff damage.

Bad Things Will Happen

Bad things can happen if you’re moving and if something happens– say, for example, your couch got stuck in the doorway, you’d have no one to help you. Without the help of professional movers and their unique moving tools, you’ll likely end up spending a lot of time trying to undo what you did incorrectly. You could be spending your time enjoying your new home, but instead you’ll be busy helping fix what you broke during the move. You might end up in the hospital for some reasons and you would not want that to happen in the height of your excitement. No one likes canceling plans right?

Hiring movers can save you from a lot of the common stresses during the moving day. In addition, when working with a moving company, you won’t have to drive a large truck throughout tight neighborhoods and narrow streets. Anyone not familiar with driving a large truck finds driving a moving truck a challenge. If driving a moving truck intimidates you, you’re not alone. Hire some moves to save you from this fear.

You Need a Helping Hand

Driving is not much of a hassle if you are road tripping. However, it is a dreadful thing thinking that you have a load of things on your back and that some of these are so fragile you have to drive like a turtle. Not to mention how far you have to go, you might be moving cross country and that would drain the life out of you.

Leave the driving to the professionals. Not only will they transport everything out of your current place, but they’ll also drive it across the vastness for you and deliver it right to your new home. This way, you can go and not have to worry about driving a  huge truck across places.

Final Thoughts

Moving is a tough job and can be very stressful if you decide to get it done by yourself. If you don’t want these things to happen to you, resorting to the professionals is a much effortless task. You can hire the services of a moving company and have all the trouble taken care for you. If you can set aside a little of your income and afford the services of a moving company then you will not regret that decision.
